Just curious to see if there are any others out there who were born and raised in old Strathcona…
Maybe a reunion of sorts… of the original SPOTA people…or something.
Our family has some old photos of Strathcona, a collection, I’m guessing over the past 60+ years. I was at an event honouring the pioneer women of Vancouver last week, and met up with our old and dear friend, Shirley Chan, whose mother was one of those women who had been honoured at the City of Vancouver event. Shirley and some of my family members had fought against the destruction of Strathcona. Yup. Strathcona was where our City’s community activism started :-)
