Classic Rock band April Wine seem to be showing no signs of showing down. For those of you born after 1989 and don't know who these guys are, just ask your dad. He'll roll his eyes at you, but eventually, he'll answer. It's not that April Wine's not an appealing band to the younger generation, it's that the younger generation is too caught up with stupid techno/indie/new age garbage. I would do horrible things to Our Lady Peace. And I'm not talking about the same kind of horrible things I would do to Scarlett Johansson. Frankly, the band has demonstrated no quality in output since that one single We Are All Innocent, and even that was nothing more than a passing fancy of early adolescence for most. Their music is bland, their lyrics are banal, and worst of all, their comportment is simply atrocious and completely out of sync with what they actually are. Simply put, Our Lady Peace is the equivalent of a dog chasing after its tail; funny to look at, but pitiful to think about. -D.P.

It's impressive that the Olympic Committee landed someone like Deadmau5. Frankly, I have a hard time believing he actually agreed to play at the Olympics. Why you ask? Because he's an artist of actual merit, of creative integrity, and of a certain amount of worth that seems to be lacking in the majority of his fellow-performers. Expect a mixture of progressive trance, alternative techno, and plenty of "Oh my God, did he actually just do that?". He's a wonder to witness, and somehow, the Olympic board has picked up on this and has justly decided to charge $50 for the show. -D.P.

Pitchfork sweethearts, Passion Pit are more than just hype; they're actually worth something musically. Sure, they may not be revolutionary, but hell, doesn't mean they're not damn good. And the live shows show that there are actual humans behind those blips and beating beats. And what's more, they don't come off as those self-indulgent idiots MGMT, but rather as self-aware, kind, and excited at the fact that they're playing to people. Every live rendition is success and every audience member can walk home, will want to walk home and wish that Passion Pit's music and joy soundtracked their entire lives. As expected, smoking hot bud girls will be the official eye candy of the parties while bumping bosoms with celebrities and athletes is certainly a strong possibility as well. The NHL party will feature some of the top puck slappers the world has to offer and plenty of bud to celebrate, or commiserate, the day's results. Don't show up wearing your track suit though, the party will be fairly exclusive.
